HD Squared Architects provided Interior Design services for the transformation at the Comfort Inn Conference Center and Chessie’s Chesapeake Grill in Bowie, MD. The establishment updated their 7,500 square-foot Conference Center and adjacent Bar to transform the space into a bright and comfortable environment for both engagement and relaxation. Known as a ‘hidden gem’ with ‘surprisingly good crab cakes’…where the ‘lump crab meat is really lump crab meat’, the refurbished bar reveals a taste of contrasting textures that provide an overall sense of comfort and place of sanctuary. Cool blue mosaics reflect energy efficient LED lighting adjacent to a distressed white wood backdrop for the bottles of libations at the back bar. At the bar counter, the seemingly simple light-gray quartz surface reveals its complexity at a closer glance and is supported by a wall of textured stacked stone. Overall, the bar was redesigned with a 21st century appeal.
Outside the Chessie’s Grille, a freshly painted brick-lined concourse accentuates updated carpet and window coverings that frame countless views of the newly surfaced pool deck outside. 7,500 square feet of conference space to one side provide maximum flexibility by creating one large to six rooms for your work or social event. Newly painted walls and wall covering enliven the space. Patterned trim frames along the perimeter add a touch of elegance.
